Mr. Pearce is a co-founder of Vertical Capital and a member of its Board of Directors as well as its Investment Committee. He co-manages Vertical and has overall responsibility for the firm's operational and financial activities. He is a member of Vertical Capital, LLC’s Board of Directors and is a co-founder of the firm. Prior to forming Vertical Capital, Mr. Pearce was CEO and co-founder of Peachtree Financial LLC, an Atlanta-based commercial finance company organized with the financial sponsorship of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. and First Union Bank. He initially served as the company's Chief Financial Officer before being named CEO by the company’s Board of Directors. Prior to forming Peachtree in 1998, Mr. Pearce was a Managing Director with Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc. where he was employed for more than eleven years in New York and Atlanta. At Bear Stearns, Mr. Pearce held senior positions in institutional fixed income as well as the Financial Services Group. In addition to expertise across the credit sensitive ABS, RMBS, CMBS and CDO market sectors, Mr. Pearce specialized in the development and implementation of risk management and portfolio optimization systems for financial institutions. Mr. Pearce began his career at Bear Stearns in 1986 in the mortgage research department. He began his investment banking career in 1985 at the Paine Webber Group in New York City. He is a graduate of Washington and Lee University and has studied at Harvard University and the New York Institute of Finance.
